The Kozeny–Carman relation states that flow through the pores is possible at a certain location as long as the porosity is larger than zero at this location in the aquifer. WebThe effective porosity can then be computed using Equation 6 as 2 cm 3 /10 cm 3 = 0.20. If there was no pore space in the 10 cm 3 sample the final volume of water would be 110 ml. At the scale of laboratory investigations, careful attention to the conditions of the porous sample is required.
